Farnham College unravels the mysteries of Higher Education

Posted on 17 June 2011

Confused about the changes going on in Higher Education? You’re not alone! As the BBC recently reported on their website, “half of parents feel they have not received enough information about the new university tuition fees system…and a third of the 630 parents of 13-21-year-olds quizzed for Universities UK said they had little or no understanding of the new system.”

Farnham Sixth Form College is taking steps to address this. On Thursday 7 July the College is holding a ‘Get ahead with Higher Education’ evening for year 10 students and their parents to demystify some of the issues surrounding university entrance.

A speaker from the University of Sussex will address some of the issues that may concern students and parents regarding the future education of their son or daughter, including the benefits of a higher education and some facts and figures regarding the costs. In addition they will be able to meet with students currently studying a range of courses at university and hear from them about their experiences of progressing from school to university.
