Sally Dicketts CBE, Chief Executive of Activate Learning, said: “I am delighted to see that so many of our students have succeeded and achieved some fantastic results this year and I’m thrilled to say that across Activate Learning our overall pass rate is up on last year.
“I think this year has highlighted how important it is to apply yourself from day one and remain focused throughout your studies, and for those students that did this their efforts have been rewarded today.
“As with every year, there are always some people that feel unhappy with the grades they’ve received, regardless of the special conditions that we’ve found ourselves in this year because of COVID.
“We will support those students however we can to ensure that they are able to achieve the things they want and realise their ambitions.”
Zoe Wakeling was the college’s top performer, achieving two A* grades in English literature and mathematics, as well as a A in history. She will now take up an offer from Leeds University where she will study history.
Zoe said: “I woke up this morning and saw that I had got into university and my first thought was brilliant, I am in!
“My teachers were fab at college and I was really happy with all the support I received. I’m so excited to be starting university in September.”
Ellen Andrews achieved A grades in English language and sociology and a B in geography. She will be studying geography at Gloucestershire University.
Ellen said: “I am happy with my results and I was lucky that I had an unconditional offer. The college did everything they could and I am so happy I got in and I’ve got to where I want to be. I would like to thank my tutors for providing me with the opportunity to learn and in particular, James Jagger, my geography teacher for his support in times of need, especially over the last few months.
“I would recommend Farnham College to others as it provides a great and friendly learning environment and it was very inclusive and diverse!”
