Guest Speaker from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, visits our Fine Art students1

Kate Street, artist and curator and Year 2 Pathway Leader for BA Hons Fine Art degree at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, gave an inspiring talk to Fine Art students at Farnham Sixth Form College this month. She impressed upon students the breadth of opportunity afforded by fine art practice, and the multi-disciplinary nature of the course to meet the needs of a wide range of jobs and occupations.  She explained this ranges from art administration, marketing and illustration to museum and gallery work. Kate told our students that 10% more students progress to subject related employment following a degree in the creative arts than any other degree subject. She was equally impressed at the quality of work produced by our students on the A level Fine Art course. A screen printing workshop has been arranged at the UCA for Farnham Sixth Form College students in June, which will provide them with a further unique learning experience in a university environment.
