Fine Art and 3D Architecture students at Farnham Sixth Form College were lucky enough to be invited to take part in 'Figure it Out' - a three day workshop event and exhibition. The event ran from 29-31st January with guest artist Alison Orchard. Alison inspired the students with her life drawing workshops which provided a unique opportunity to work from different life models and explore a range of experimental techniques and approaches using line, tone, texture and colour. The programme for the workshops was as follows –
Day 1 – Perfecting the line.
Day 2 – Exploring contrasts, tone and light and understanding form.
Day 3 – Movement, colour and flow.
Funding for this project was gained following a bid to the Farnham South Street Trust. Following the workshop, artworks will be exhibited at a Private View which has been arranged for Tuesday 12 February 6.30pm-8.30pm at the College and all works will be on sale with the proceeds being used to support a local charity.
Head of Art at Farnham Sixth Form College, Julian Thompson, said ‘The students found the experience totally absorbing and produced some fantastic work of which they should be proud. It was great to provide an inspirational learning experience that was both challenging and fun.’
