My son or daughter is at Farnham College

FCStudentsPartnership with parents, guardians and carers

Throughout your son or daughter’s college experience, we aim to ensure that you are kept informed of your child’s progress as they learn and develop with us. We understand that personal contact is important, so if you have any worries or concerns at any time, our tutors and support staff will be on hand to answer any queries or concerns. We ask that you encourage your son or daughter to attend college regularly so they can get the best out of college.

In the same way that we have expectations of students, we ask parents to:

  • Attend parents' evenings and take an interest in College life
  • Support our commitment to good attendance, punctuality and
    meeting deadlines
  • Contact us if you have any concerns
  • Inform us of any changes to contact details or personal
    circumstances
  • Ensure holidays are not booked during term time

We want to work with you to help your son or daughter succeed, and their best results will be achieved if we work together.

Concerns

If you have any concerns, would like to consult with a staff member or find out how your son or daughter is getting on, we can arrange an appointment with their personal tutor or the relevant staff member. Every effort will be made to deal with any concerns swiftly.

Tel: 0800 612 6008 or click here to ask us a question.

Parents of new students are invited to the College early in the academic year so that they can be given information about College procedures. Reports on progress and grading are sent home to parents, and there are consultation evenings throughout the College year.

Rules and Regulations

The College has a relaxed, adult atmosphere, but students are still expected to abide by some key rules and regulations, which are detailed within our Student Charter.

Higher Education

Due to their commitment and hard work our students regularly secure places at the UK's leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. In 2019, our students went on to study at over 50 different universities.

We want to ensure that your son or daughters next step towards university or a professional career is smooth and successful. We want to support them through the entire process, from building your CV, to applying to university and preparing for interviews. Whatever their ambition we'll help them to achieve their goals.

"The College really strives to support you to succeed, so I feel like the tutors take an interest in all of their students."
